Album Review by:
WaterIf you are looking for something unique to listen to, Deep 6 Holiday is a great band to start listening to. The name alone suggests something different. Without listening you may guess that Halloween is more the Holiday that comes to mind. But not to worry, holidays aren't really what this band is about.
This album is a musical trip through life. The band tells us that its meant to mirror the ceremonial process of confronting death. Maybe this might make some step back, but one listen to Tyler Azelton's voice and you're drawn in.
Some of the songs are dark, such as Empty Casket, but its far from what you'd call gothic, and when you listen you only hear the beauty of Tyler's voice.
When listening you need to remember that this is a concept album and listen how the songs move as you work your way through the album. Its a moody experience, obviously taken from some of the trials of Tyler's life, but its one worth having.
If you have a love for music that's haunting and atmospheric you'll find this to your taste. If you don't, give it a listen anyway, Tyler's voice is definitely one worth hearing at least once.
Genre: Progressive Rock, vocal
Sounds Like: classical music picked on jazz too much, so rock came over and smacked it one but good (These are the words from the band!!)
